The Great Pigs Hut

Thank you for your great feedbacks last time. I am expecting lot more feedbacks this time but only in form of comments.

Attention: The below story is just a work of fiction and the characters mentioned below are not the one you think they are.
"THIS IS A PIGS HUT .." shouted the great grizzly bear. How dare he call our room a pigs hut ? Any ways I have not seen a pigs hut till date. So when my friend Mr Glen Paul Gonsalvas said these words I started wondering. Why? Why pigs hut?

He could have at least called it a pig's apartment. It is anyways bigger than a hut. Might be the socks hanging on the window smells like a pig. Anyways I was in no mood to leave him without an explanation.

“How dare you call this a pigs hut?” I shouted back.

“How better can I describe this house? Open your eyes and look around man “, replied Glen. As if my eyes were closed till date. “Leave it, I don’t have time for your crap”, telling this I went to sleep.

For some reason his words echoed inside me. We seven friends are staying in our house and Glen just joined us this week. We all know each other for almost 6 years now dating back to the collage days. And for the past two years we are staying in this big house and all of us are proud of it because ours was the largest when compared to the other friends houses. Thoughts about each of us started flooding:

Arun KS : We call him KS, have not heard anyone calling him Arun for years now. One day when his mother called us and asked for Arun, one of my friends cut the call saying wrong number. He is a great singer and we cannot imagine a day without hearing him sing. Mortein, Good Night, All Out etc are no were when compared to his songs. The mosquitoes leave the whole town and never returns back if they hear him. One company has come forward and is doing some research on his voice frequencies which don’t have any limits. Their initial findings show that he produces frequencies which are not audible to human ears. Who knows, in the near future we might have a new anti mosquito solutions with the KS brand name.

Sandeep: We call him Annan. The only tamil blood in our group. The brand Dr Batra ambassador .For those who don’t know Batra, he is a hair specialist who have helped people across the world to sort out their hair problems. But in this case it seems as if Batra has lost the battle. The number of hair lost from Annans head is closing to infinity. Annan is a software tester and all the developers in his company like him very much. Even the worst developer who never got promoted got promoted after Annan became the tester. Annan says: “When the developers in a company are perfect the scope of finding bugs are less. I hope this explains why I have not found any bugs for the past one year “

Santhosh: We call him Kumba. The biggest living threat for the great “ Fair and Lovely company”. This black pearl has been using “Fare and Lovely” for the past 4 years. Kumba’s shadow has turned white but not his face. He is currently staying in a remote place as the “Fare and lovely “ hitmen can launch an attack at any time.

We again have the film actor Heeraj who is famous as Gopu, the call center James ( always on phone ) and choodan Vatii (Rijeesh MC) who is not speaking with Annan as he has broken Vattie’s pencil 2 years back.

And now Mr Glen had referred this house as pigs hut. Wait a minute, did he mean we all are pigs? I woke up all the other so called pigs and prepared the team for an attack on Glen. Come on lets attack shouted Kumba and all started to fall on the great grizzly . Glen who was sound sleep with a walkman in his ear woke up only when sacks of human flesh fall on him. “Ayooooo …” the cry for mercy started flooding from Glen’s mouth. At last when all were satisfied with the treat, Glen started firing back.

“Guyz I am not joking. Why don’t you open your eyes and see around. Understood we all are bachelors but can’t we at least clean this house once in a year”. I just interrupted the serious Glen. “We did clean the room two, sorry four months back on a Sunday. I still remember. So it is not yet a year “.

Glen: “Deepak, be serious. When I told one year, I just meant once in a while not exactly 365 days and 6 hours. You are staying in this house for years now and that is why you cannot feel the difference. I just came in so I can make out how bad it is. Just see the kitchen, it is a garbage pit.”

I went to the kitchen. Yes what Glen told was absolutely right. It was full of papers, banana skins, hundreds of mineral water bottles, beer bottles, soap wrappers, old cloths etc and etc. We don’t cook from our house so Kitchen was our Garbage pit. When I return back from Kitchen I heard Glen talking about how dirty our bathroom looks. I again interrupted him. “Guys, what Glen told is right. It is high time we clean the room. Anyways tomorrow is Sunday so why don’t we clean the mess”, I put forward the suggestion. Santhosh who was applying fair and lovely was the first one to object. “Sorry guys, I too feel it should be cleaned but you see I need to go to church tomorrow. And after that I again have the cricket match. So need to practice.” Gopu mone suddenly remembered that he had to meet his old friend who is staying near by. James was going to his home town in the morning. So he was also not available. That is okay, we still have five of us including Glen so we should be able to clean the whole mess. Telling this we all went to sleep.

I work up at 8:30 next morning. Surprisingly I couldn’t find Annan next to me. Normally he wakes up last and leaves to office only at 11. But today, that too Sunday he is no were to be seen. Might be he have started cleaning. I woke up and saw Vatti brushing his teeth. I asked him where is Annan? “How will I know?”, was his reply. I asked Glen who was playing Games in his laptop with utmost concentration. I had to repeat thrice before I got an answer. “He went some where “. I took my mobile and dialed Annan’s number. Soon a ladies voice answered: “You don’t have enough balance for the call to the dialed number. Please recharge your account soon “. I wandered why all the automated answers are in female voice. Phones are even used by Women who like good male voice.

I took KS’s mobile which was lying nearby. Before I could make a call I noticed 5 to 6 good morning messages that too from different girl friends. Anyways I called Sandeep who picked up on the 11th ring. “Where are you? “ I asked in a commanding tone. “I am in the office. Had some urgent work”, replied back Sandeep. “From were did you suddenly got this much work that too on Sunday. If you cannot clean where u stay, better say that on the face“.Before I could complete my words KS’s came and hang the phone. “I just have 2 rupee balance now how will I reply to the good morning messages.” shouted KS. “Shut up”, I shouted back. “If no one is ready to clean this house let it be like this. Pigs hut is a good name; we’ll keep a board too in front”. Saying this I too dropped the idea and got back to sleep.

When I woke up two hours later, I found Glen still engaged in his game. I was in the afternoon shift and left for the office soon. When I came back in the night the greatest surprise hit me. The room was crystal clean. Not even a single dust or cobweb. I went straight to the kitchen and found 7 rice sacks fully filled and tied as if some one was inside the sack. Sandeep came behind me and told: “See machu I have done it “. Before Sandeep could finish KS came and repeated the same thing. All started telling they have done it except for Glen who was again playing Games. At last Mr Vatti told the truth, Glen have cleaned the whole mess when no one was there in the house. Thanks to Glen. So all picked him and gave bumps for the mammoth task done. Now the next job was to dump the toxic filled in the seven sacks. As it is not allowed to dump waste in the near by area we waited till 12:00 AM in the midnight. When most of the people in our area were asleep each carried a bag and started to a near by place where people dump waste.

It was very dark out side and dogs were barking like anything. Santhosh carrying a sack in one hand and “fair and lovely” in the other hand walk in the front. “If some once see us carrying these many sacks they will think something fishy is going on”, said Gopu. “You don’t make sound and wake the people”, replied Vatti. Slowly we reached the dump spot. The place was very dark and the street light was not on. The place was very stinky and all wanted to get out of the place as soon as possible. All throw the sacks there and hurried back to the room as soon as possible. All were happy and patted Glen for the great job. Now the room should be called the “Kings “told some one. “ Pigs hut “is better replied some one. All lie down and started sleeping.

Something worked me. What was that? I did hear something. Lights were out and all my friends were sound asleep. I looked for my watch to check the time. And to my amazement the watch was not there. I never leave my watch and I was worried as it was not to be found. Did I loose my watch on the way to the dump yard? I tried calling KS. “KS please get up, I think I lost my watch. Come we will search for it”. He was in no mood to come with me. Anyways I took a torch and started to the dump yard alone. Unlike last time, I was very afraid now. I slowly walked. The street was very quite and I listened to my own footsteps. Suddenly a black dog barked at me. I missed a few heat beats. I think the dog was more surprised as it ran away in full speed seeing me. I reached the dump yard. The sacks were there as we had kept. I started looking for my watch and suddenly I noticed something strange. There were eight sacks now instead of seven. My heat beat increased. One sack was looking wet. I slowly took a stick and hit the heavy sack, some thing came out of the sack. I pointed my torch to find a human finger peeping out of the sack. Ohh !! shit ..I turned around and started running back towards my room. One the way I saw my neighbor watching me through the windows. I entered the room and started calling everyone. Da wake up, someone is dead. Some one have died I saw the dead body. Someone slapped on my face and I woke up. Glen asked: “Why are you screaming in your sleep? “.

With gods grace it was morning and the last part I saw was just a dream. I got up and hurried to the dump yard. The sacks were still there. I counted them six, seven, eight !! The 8th one was looking wet !
